With the rapid development of film art and technology, the early film sound concept of vision-domination has gradually walked out of sight. The equality of sound elements and image elements in films is maintained in modern film theory. In general, the film-watching experience is dual, which includes the perception of light and sound, and the coinstantaneous perception of film vision and event pattern. In order to discuss and demonstrate the synergetic formation of film sound and image from the angle of perception, the fundamentals of synergetics are introduced, to analyze the sound and image synergetic interaction both theoretically and practically. Firstly, the origin and development of film sound and image is studied through the evolution of film theory. It’s believed that in early film sound and image theory, the divergence of sound and image relationship was not between “silence” and “sound”. It was a divergence in film synergetic technique of expression. Secondly, the basic concepts of synergetics theory are introduced. The physical foundation and synergetic perception mechanism in human body during visual and audio perception are analyzed. The synergetic pattern cognition is brought into the film perception process, and the synergetic is considered to be the foundation of film sound and image perception. Finally, the characteristics and organizing methods of film sound and image are analogized, and the theoretical assumption is brought forward that in different structures, the interaction between film sound and film image during synergetic perception generates power. The assumption is confirmed in practice with real film experiments like Inception.
