Ⅰ. Introduction
In this modern age with large diversity of cultures, in order to achieve a successful intercultural communication, we must have a correct evaluation of our own culture and sound sense of judgment of the others. Tea culture, as an indispensable element in Chinese culture, boasts a long history, and was attached great importance by people or thousand years for it was served as a messenger between nations tea custom and ceremony communication.
II. Connotation of tea culture
A Definition of tea culture
Tea culture is defined by the way tea is made and consumed; by the way the people interact with tea, and by the aesthetics surrounding tea drinking. Tea is commonly drunk at social events, and many cultures have created intricate formal ceremonies for these events.
B Chinese tea culture
In a country with the history of five thousand years, the Chinese tea drinking habit dated back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907AD). It became a national tradition and led to development of a delicate tea drinking ritual. One of the best-known writers is Lu Yu, who was regarded as the Tea Sage for he composed the first book on tea. And the valuable knowledge he recorded has laid foundation for modern tea culture development.
