It is a microcosm of all economic activity in a country. On the condition of China’s open-door policy environment, foreign retailers have been pouring into the Chinese market. Compared with foreign businesses, Chinas retail businesses, especially of supermarket retail business, there are also lacks of management experience, financial strength, IT and other deficiencies, the development speed relatively slow, and the stamina is obviously insufficient. As the world integration process has been accelerating, and Chinas economy comprehensive integration into the world economy. The competition between countries increasingly reflected in the competition between the enterprises, and the competition between the enterprises are the core competitiveness show. Therefore, Chinas hypermarkets want to compete with the strong foreign-funded enterprises, and achieve for a long-term survival and development, we must correctly realize and evaluate our core competitiveness, and to find the starting point for further cultivate and enhance our core competitiveness. This paper researched the most representative of hypermarkets retail industry. First, On the basis of reviewing the concept and characteristics of the core competitiveness of enterprises, defined the concept of the core competitiveness in retail enterprises; then analysis of the development status of Chinas supermarket retail business and the gap with foreign-funded enterprises, based on the core competence theory, and combined with the existing research results, analyzed the elements of core competitiveness in hypermarket retail business. Further build the evaluation system of hypermarket retail enterprise.Applied analytic hierarch
