Usually, we have paid too much attention on the space creating, while ignoring the thinking of the time. In fact, in the landscape planning and design, the expression of time factor plays the same initial role as the passing of spatial form. We have to make contributions to a timed landscape which accord time and space, in order to better reflect the timeless charm of the natural principle of the profound meaning of the humanities, as well as ecological sustainability. Currently, the research on the landscape time dimension has not drawn enough attention in our nation, resulting in a lack of perfect and deep study. There’s no such a complete and systematic theoretical system on landscape time dimension. With the rapid development of Chinas landscape design, researches on landscape time dimension has become increasingly relevant. This paper mainly studies the landscape time dimension, getting access to relevant information with scene photographs, case studies, networking inquiries, etc., detailed analyzing and summarizing the relevant attributes and characteristics by literature search, comparative analysis and summarize. Meanwhile, it also gives a deep and systematic research on landscape time dimension from variety aspects. This paper mainly discusses and studies from the following three parts: The first part is to raise problems: discuss the unique charm in the landscape time dimension, as well as the ignorance of time dimension in the design. Point out the important value and significance of the study. And make the purpose, content and methods of the study clear.
