CLC assisted in the organization of some early Inter-varsity Putonghua recital competitions. 2003 年，研習所在中大首辦漢語演講比賽，參賽組分國際學生組及中國學生組， 之後，由大學藝術行政主任辦公室主持，每年舉辦一次 CLC pioneered the first Chinese speaking contest in CUHK in 2003 and offered two divisions in the contest namely for international students and for Chinese students.
