Abstract Enterprises are facing a new environment wh ich is characterized by economic globalization and the rapid development of information techno logy and consumer demand uncertainty, diversit y and dynamic. In such a dyna mic and comp lex environment, enterprises are facing unprecedented challenges in invento ry management. Inventory manage ment has been an important part of inventory management in bus iness management. Through rational inventory management it can save operating costs, reduce the risk of depreciation and arrange reasonably product production planning. In the tradit iona l management mode, users and suppliers have separate library, imple ment ing their inventory policies separately. The limits of this strategy are distributed stock inventory, fragmentation, and lack of a unified and systematic inventory control methods. Due to different targets, different enterprises in supply chain are easy to have conflicts, which result in a loss of overall interest in supply chain. The complete information can not be shared among enterprises, which is easy to be dis torted dur ing the transfer process among enterprises in different nodes, and produces uncertain demand. Joint inventory management is an inventory management of a risk sharing based on the strategy of distributor integration in s upply chain manage ment. It emphasizes the two sides participating joint ly in developing inventory plans to make both sides coordinated. Joint inventory manage ment is an effective method to solve the demand amp lification phenomenon led by enterprise independent inventory operation mode in different nodes and improve supply chain synchronization. Joint inventory management emphasizes every node in supply chain participating jointly in developing inventory plans in order to make every inventory manager do consideration from mut ual coord ination and ma inta in the same on demand expectation, eliminating demand amplification phenomenon.
