Henan University of Technology, Zhengzhou Henan 450052, China ) Abstract: AutoCAD is a software widely used for computer aided design with its proficient in 2-dimendional engineering drawings, but not good in word processing. Microsoft Word is strong in word processing but weak in making precise or complicated drawings. However, it is possible to produce well-illustrated engineering documents if these two kinds of software are integrated. According to the characteristics of Microsoft Word and AutoCAD, the paper gives six methods of inserting AutoCAD drawings into Word documents, meanwhile, the effects of these methods are analyzed and compared.
