A Ministry of Education funded programme ( 中國教育部資助項目) 本地生暑期中國語言文化實習課程2013 – 西安 PRINCH (Pragmatic Internship in China, Xian) Summer 2013, in Xi’an A 3-credit course for CUHK local undergraduates (CPTH4613) Purpose: As part of the efforts to provide CUHK local students with the opportunity to use Putonghua in real life for real communication purposes, CUHK-CLC has been working with educational institutions in China since 2006 for the “PRINCH” Programme for non-native speakers. It is the first time to launch the Programme to local undergraduate students of CUHK. PRINCH allows students to practice what they have learned in class through a variety of activities in the target culture, an approach that has been recognized by professionals and highly recommended as a most effective means to cultivate pragmatic competence of language learners.
