And three years later, after experiencing 95 percent 6)breakage of all the ware we finished, we realized why nobody else in the United States was doing it, she says. Several well-known glass companies like Libby and Tiffany tried to make Cameo in the 1800s. However the breakage rate was so high, that they soon gave up, and the secret of Cameo making died with them. Ms. Murphy realized if she wanted to make the Cameo, it was up her to re-discover the process.
