臺中教育大學學報 ：人文藝術類  0  年 ，() ，- 《左傳》吳王夫差之人物形象析論 ’ An analysis of the Image of Wu s Fu-Chai in Zuo Zhuan 李宜樺＊ I-Hua Li （收件日期00 年 月 日；接受日期00 年 月 日） 摘 要 本文就 《左傳》中與吳王夫差相關之記進行探討 ，對夫差形象及形象塑造之技巧與 意義進行分析 。《左傳》中的吳王夫差形象 ，是矛盾並列的複雜性格 ，如氣質性情恣縱卻 又勇烈 ，又如行事風格自信積極卻也剛愎驕矜 ，因此 《左傳》對吳王夫差的人物評價 ，可 以歸結為 「雄心勃勃卻成亡國之君」。至於 《左傳》對吳王夫差形象塑造所運用的藝術手 法 ，乃 「側筆烘托的不寫之寫」、「預言敘事之總結與呼應」、「縱橫對比手法之運用」。《左 傳》以含蓄、蘊藉、迂迴 、曲折、間接 、旁面、不寫之寫的方式 ，刻劃烘托出亡國霸主夫 差其人 ，而此形象因為許多亡國預言之總結 ，與隨著預言得證之呼應又被加強深化 。「縱 橫對比」手法則是以闔廬之賢對比夫差之不賢，以無禮 、無能之伯嚭得夫差重用 ，對比忠 貞有遠見之伍子胥遭夫差下令自殺 ，藉此凸顯夫差亡國之君的形象。而 《左傳》中吳王夫 差形象背後所隱含之意義 ，則是具 「歷史資鑑與微言深義」，左氏以中原華夏的文化禮教 之價值觀形塑 、批判吳王夫差其人形象 ，並以驕兵必敗的歷史教訓勸人戒驕侈 、謙守禮 。 關鍵詞：人物形象、夫差 、左傳 、史傳文學 、吳越爭霸 ＊國立成功大學中文所博士生 0 臺中教育大學學報 ：人文藝術類 Abstract ’ This study aims to analyze the image of Wu s Fu-Chai （夫差）in Zuo Zhuan （左傳）and the associated meaning. The image of Fu-Chai in Zuo Zhuan depicts a complicated personality filled with contradiction. Fu-Chai in Zuo Zhuan is indulgent yet brave, and self-confident yet proud. He is an ambitious monarch that leads the country towards destruction. Four aspects of image-building skills and meaning are discussed: the first is an indirect description, the second is a summary of Fu-Chais destiny through prophecies, the third employs a contrast of good and bad between Fu-Chai and his father and his two subordinates, and the fourth explains how the image of Fu-Chai in Zuo Zhuan reflects Chinese values and offers a historical lesson.
