Unit 2 Last Weekend
Part B let’s learn
Teaching aims and contents:
Listen、speak、read and write the phrases: last weekend、 last night、 last Monday 、yesterday 、the day before yesterday;
Use the sentence pattern: What did you do last weekend? I….
Did you …? Yes, I…/ No, I…
To express the weekend activities and be able to put the structures in life.
Pay attention to the past tense and can use it.
The difficult and key points:
Be able to use the patterns: What did … do last weekend? Did…? Yes,…/ No,…
Use the phrases: read a book、saw a film、had a cold、slept and put them into the sentences.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Lead-in:
= 1 \* GB3 ①Enjoy a song and relax;
= 2 \* GB3 ②Review the last lesson with pictures: How was his weekend? It was…/ what did he do? He …. (let students to answer the questions by looking the pictures carefully)
= 3 \* GB3 ③Make students think back about their last weekend and share it with classmates.
Step 2: Presentation
= 1 \* GB3 ①Show the picture about weeks: Wednesday—today, Tuesday—yesterday, Monday—the day before yesterday, the Saturday and Sunday—last weekend…( read after radio and follow teacher)
= 2 \* GB3 ②Show the teacher’s last weekend: First, I cleaned my room. Then, I went to the supermarket. After that, what did I do? (show six pictures) Did I go to the …? What did I do there?(students answers, focus the past tense of verbs) Conclude the teacher’s last weekend(by phrases).
= 3 \* GB3 ③Show the Wetchat of Amy and a book.(question: what did Amy do last weekend? Students answer. Did she like it? Yes, she did. Did Amy do anything else? Listen and answer. How did the film? )teaching the others phrases by same way and write the key phrases on the black board: read a book、saw a film、had a cold、slept.
Step 3: Practice
Brain storm: show a table of “old classmates’ ” last weekend, give 10s to students and remember these. Use the key sentence patterns: what did he/she do last weekend? Did he/she…? to repeat them by
