To further enhance the safety of vehicle operation, this paper designed a monitoring system to monitor the situation of automotive power in real time. Replace the original analog form measurement system in order to guarantee the user a more intuitive operation situation. This system consists of two parts. One is the data acquisition and processing system based on DSP, and the other is the control system based on AVR microcontroller. Collection oil pressure, oil temperature, water temperature and other engine operating parameters of automotive engine by the corresponding sensor in real-time. And concurrent collection the phase voltage、phase current of electric generator. Then send the data into the DSP data processing system for processing. Through the CAN bus, DSP transmitted the data to the vehicle cab AVR microcontroller control system and carried out by the VFD LCD to display. Once the parameters of an exception, the system will store the fault content, and alarm the driver to stop the car to make a check, so as to avoid further damage to the equipment. In this paper, firstly study the output signals of Automobile electric engine and generator. Completion the signal conditioning circuit hardware design based on the output signal characteristics. And then designed the DSP data processing system; designed a real-time clock circuit to facilitate display the time; designed memory circuits to store fault record. Finally design the hardware circuits of the AVR microcontroller control system. Using CAN bus data processing system to receive data from DSP. Using 128 × 64-type VFD LCD to display the automobile engine operating parameters. And designed eight control buttons for easily control the screen for turning page、setting parameter or polling fault
