ABSTRACT With the social development and the improvement of peoples living standard, Health problems ， which brought by environmental pollution and psychological pressure, have been got more and more attention. Health industry is no longer limited in pharmaceutical research and development or medical-related industries. Health services become an important part of the health industry. At present, health services, especially the health industry park focused on health service, become a hot spot of investment in some domestic cities. As the lack of planning theories and research, professional planning guidance play a critical role in construction of health industrial park. The paper made definitions of the concepts include health, health industry, and health business park. Based on a summary of relevant documents and theories as well as the practices of health industr y around the world, the author believed that generally heath industry in China is made up by health products and health services. In a microcosmic view, it contains health care, inter-health care, health care production, heath management as four most impor tant parts. Additionally, new health industry, which includes health food and logistic, prospered in recent years. The health industry is developing rapidly in a polyphyletic way. The author developed a study of health business park in a view of space.as w ell as industry. The design of health business park is a hybrid of space arrangement and industrial plan. In the paper, approaches of health industry park design mainly consider the construction of industry, plan conception, functional zoning, landscape and open space system. With the planning of Houbo academy in Xinjiang Medical University, theoretical studies and field research, this work analyzes the background of the project and made up a planning to build comprehensive health industrial park.
