Step 1 Leading in
T: Hello, everyone. How are you today?
S:It was great.
T:How was your last weekend? My last weekend was terrible. I did too much housework. I cooked the meals, I washed the clothes, I cleaned the rooms… I was very tired. What about you? How was your weekend, and what did you do?(Ask three students to answer these questions)
Step 2 Show the learning aims.
Today we are going to learn Unit 12 What did you do last weekend? We will go on talking about the Simple Past Tense.
In this class we will learn and practice some important phrases and sentences, and use them to talk about past events.
Step 3 Learn the phrases
Look at the pictures, do you know the meaning of each picture?
Phrases: do my homework, go to the beach, go to the cinema, play badminton, go boating, camp by the lake.
Can you write the past form of these phrases?
Do activity 1a Match the activities with the picture.
Step 4 Listening
Listen and write the day, morning, afternoon or night below each picture.
Repeat the conversation.
Step 5 Role-play
Student A is Lucy, Student B ask Lucy about her weekend, then Role play the conversation.
Say something about your weekend.
Step 6 Pairwork
Show some pictures. According the pictures and the phrases, ask and answer in pairs. Ask the questions with what, where or who.
Step 7 Listening
Listen and underline the words you hear.
Listen again. Wrice C for Carol, J for Jack or B for Becky next to the statements in 2a.
Student A asks questions with who, what or where and Student B answers. The change roles.
