S3: … Purpose: This activity is used to review the phrases learnt in the last unit and foreshadow the following presentation. Step 2 Presentation 1)T: This weekend I went shopping with Mom. We had a good time. Mom is one of the most important people in our lives. We love our moms very much, right? I love my mom. too. My mom’s birthday is coming next week, and I want to buy something for her as a gift. What should I get her? Can you give me some suggestions? Use these sentences to give suggestions. Now I’ll divide the whole class into two groups----boys’ group and girls’ group. If you stand up and answer the questions, boys can get tennis balls and girls can get bows. S1: What about a CD？ T: That’s too boring. S2: How about…? T: That’s / They’re… … Purpose: This activity is used to create a situation for the Ss to give advice for Mom’s birthday gift.
