In this technique, the analog voice is sampled, compressed and packaged. Then the packaged signal is sent to the Internet by TCP/IP protocol. Compared to the traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) network, VoIP has a distinct advantage in resource utilization and charges. With breakthrough of the VoIP key technologies, VoIP voice quality is achieved as the standard of the traditional PSTN network. Therefore, VoIP is increasingly used in the daily life. In recent years, China has strongly advocated triple play. The VoIP has been placed on the agenda by the State Administration of Radio Film and Television because of a lot of television users. As a chip supplier for the set-top box, Hisilicon adds the feature of VoIP in the software develop kit of chip platform. Firstly, the requirements of the user are analyzed in the beginning of this thesis. Then, the Hi3716C is used as the development platform. At last, the environment for developing and testing is built. Secondly, the design scheme, the scheduling relationship of the modules and system architecture of the voice engine are presented in this thesis. The voice engine is achieved in term of the process of control and data flow. System initialization and the reverse process, opening and closing channel, channel playback are contained in the process of control. The up and down data processing are contained in the process of data flow. Thirdly, in addition to the basic function, for the purpose of diversity, the conference feature is added in voice engine. The conference feature is also achieved in term of the process of control and data flow. Opening and closing the conference, adding and deleting the participants, conference playback and recording are contained in the process of control. Finally, the testing process is given.
