ABSTRACTRecent ABSTRACT Recent decades have seen the rapid development of Information technology．Issues on Information Security caused by information leaka- ge are becoming more and more serious，more and more losses，even related to national security,therefore，improve the security of confidential mechanism has become all urgent practical problem．Information Security involves with many theories and subjects，such as information theory, mathematics，computer science and cryptography．Targeting at the situa- tion of Information Safety and the importance of Image Encryption，as well as the limitations of traditional encryption，the emerging chatic theory has achieved extensive and profound research in the field of image Information Security． Chaos is ubiquitous in nature and human society．Research on chaos theory includes how to modulate dynamic system to chaos and how to apply chaos theory,etc．Currently,the focus of chaotic image encryption and academic hotspot mainly center on the chaotic system and encryption algorithm research，ere． This paper firstly introduces the development of chaos and its basic concepts，characteristicsidentification methods，as well as developm· ent of cryptography,encryption and decryption principles．B esides，it analyzes and summarizes the common chotic image encryption methods and ideas．Secondly,Considering the limitations of logistic chatic equat- ion，the thesis proposes several new chaotic equations and analyzes its encryption performance and chaotic properties，such as key space and the chaotic features as well as obtains experimental results．Finally,in order to improve the security of image encryption，the paper proposes two new and more reliable Chaotic image Encryption Algorithm and analyzes the Cryptographic feature．What’S more，it discusses its feasibility and adva- ntages，and obtains simulation results． The results show that the proposed equation and the chaotic image encryption algorithm are better in many aspects of the encryption
