Abstract
To make metal rubber applicable in the area of civil engineering structure vibration control, taking advantage of the optimal damping characteristics of metal rubber material, both plate-type metal rubber shear friction damper and cylinder-type metal rubber shear friction damper are developed in this paper. Dynamic performance tests are carried out. The relationships between material parameters and hysteretic behavior are obtained through the experiments above and the Bouc-Wen model of MRSFD are thus proposed according to the results of dynamic performance tests along with the corresponding parameter identification.
The main research contents include aspects as followed:
Via the Quasi-static cyclic compression–compression tests of metal rubber material specimens, parameter influence in the Quasi-static cyclic condition are achieved which can help improve the original metal rubber damper and related performance study are conducted, resulting in the influence of metal rubber material parameters on hysteretic behavior. Through the experiment, conclusion is
made that the greater the density, the bigger the diameter,which leads to better
performance. In addition, through the constant amplitude fatigue loading tests,its fatigue property is studied as well.
The shear friction cylinder-type metal rubber damper is designed and dynamic performance test under different operating conditions are taken to find out the influence of material parameters on the performance. Besides, compared with the plate-type metal rubber shear friction damper, find better dampers for following research and simulation is generated.
cording to the tests and related theory, this paper proceeds the installation of the Bouc-Wen damper model and the identification of corresponding parameters, based on which the best damper parameter along with the optimal Bouc-Wen model is achieved ,whose correctness is verified by experiment results of damper.
