Residual stress from preheat and hardness deviation caused by mi proper heattreatm ent induce weld cracks. Solutions have been forw ard for the crackedw elding. Reasonable preheats temperature, w elding parameter and postweld heattreatm ent are essential to obtain a strengthened jointing. M echanical digg ings to the cracks are better than flam e goug ing. he re pairw eld ing has undergone over 8000 h.
