Thestudyshowsthattherearemanydifferencesbetweendomesticandforeignpatents of the five countriesin the maintenance time. And it isnot correct that the mean maintenance time of the domestic patents is longer than that of the foreign patents,or vice verse. For the patentsgranted by America,Germany,Japan and Korea,the maintenance tendency of the domesticpatentsissimilartotheforeignpatents,whileforthosewhich weregrantedby China,the situationisdifferent. Andinterms of the maintenance tendency,no matter the domestic or the foreign patents,the resultsare distinctly diverse among the five countries.
