Step 1 Lead in
Ask the students’ to read the title, then enjoy a song and write down the jobs mentioned in the song in exercise book.

Step 2 New words and 1a
Think about all the jobs they know and write the jobs on the blackboard.
Teach the new words that students are not familiar with.
T: Of so many jobs, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Show some pictures to learn new words: computer programmer, cook, engineer, violinist, pianist, pilot, scientist,…
Students think about the jobs and spell them.
Students talk about their dream jobs.
S:I want to be a basketball player.
Step 3 Practice the sentences and play games.
Practice the sentence:
Show some pictures in the big screen.
--- What do you want to be when you grow up?
--- I want to be a/an...
Ask other students like this:
--- What does he/she want to be when he/she grows up?
---He/She wants to be a/an...when he/she grows up.
2. Let Ss play a game: Who has quick eyes?
3.Learn “How are you going to do that?”
“I’m going to take acting lessons./ study computer science./ practice basketball every day. / study math really hard.”
Finish 1a.
Write a sentence on the note like this: I want to be a/an..., and I am going to...
