Ⅱ. Teaching Key Points
1. Key words and phrases: computer programmer, engineer, pilot, violinist,scientist, engineer, pilot, actor, actress, be going to.
2. Target language:
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a computer programmer.
How are you going to do that?
I’m going to study computer science.
Ⅲ. Teaching Difficulty
1. To grasp the usage of the phrase: be going to.
2. To talk about future intentions by using the target language.
Ⅳ. Teaching Procedures
StepⅠ Lead-in
1. Enjoy a song with the class
2. Tell something about the song and lead in the new lesson.
StepⅡ Presentation
1. Show the pictures about the jobs and present some words.
2. Play a game and review the words.
(Divide the class into two. The rules: 1. If you know the answer, you have to stand up as quickly as you can after I say “one, two, three, go!” 2. If your answer is right, your team will get one star.)
StepⅢ Pair work. 1. Show the picture of my dream and present new sentences.
2. Two students in a pair, ask your partner’s dream.
Step Ⅳ Enjoy a story
Enjoy the story together (Chen He’s dream) and present the main sentence: How are you going to do that?
StepⅤ Listening 1. Watch a video, then fill in the blanks and match the items.
