Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warming up Revision
1. Read before class.
2. Greet with the students.
3. Enjoy the song and then sing together.
Animals, animals are everywhere
Step 2 Presentation Practice
1. Free talk.
Do you like animals?
What’s your favourite animal?
I like dogs best. Look! It’s my dog. The dog is mine.
Show the picture of my dog and the sentences on PPT. Then focus on the word: mine.
2. Try to make sentences with the word mine.
eg. It’s my pen. The pen is mine.
3. PPT presents a dog show.
T: We joined a dog show last Sunday. I took some pictures on the show. Now let’s enjoy the pictures.
Look and answer the question: Whose dog is it? Help the Ss to answer: It’s Mike’s dog. It’s his dog. The dog is his.
4. The same way to lead out the words: hers, theirs, ours. Focus on the usages of these words. Then try to make sentences with these words.
5. I can find the rules and fill in the blanks.
Focus on his—his.
6. Guessing game.
PPT shows a book and asks: Whose book is it? Ss point and say: The book is his/hers/theirs/….
7. Take out some students’ things, point and say.
eg. T: This is my schoolbag..
Ss: This schoolbag is mine
T: It’s her pencilbox.
Ss: The pencilbox is hers.
8. After several times, pair work to practice it.
