If they used incorrectly, it will bring inconvenience. This study not only analyzes the composition of modern Chinese numeral, but also discusses ontology and application of teaching on Chinese numeral. Based on a comprehensive investigation and in-depth analysis, the paper summarized the concrete manifestations of numerals in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the types of errors, and research teaching strategies and effective teaching methods. Besides the introduction and the conclusion, this thesis consists of five chapters, the other chapters are as follows： The second chapter discusses the nature and composition of numerals, beginning from classifying Chinese numerals, then describing the nature of Chinese numerals and finally summarizing the constitution of Chinese numeral that pave the pay for the following chapters. The third chapter discusses the ontology of Chinese numeral in teaching Chinese as a foreign language，including numeral reading
