HOwever，there are some shOrtages. In addition， the fOrm町 studíes either had discussiOn about cultural default in translatiOn Or studied translatiOn based On relevance theOry instead Of cOmbining the three factOrs tOge由er. They just discussed the phenOmenOn Of cultural 、‘ de也ult and its translatiOn strategies based On the analysis Of the wOrds Or the sentences within a certain passage instead of analyzing examples 仕om an extensive way. Thus，some questions in this regard are stíll Open tO :further investigatiOn， and hence arises the necessity fOr this potential research and thesis which is hOped tO further the research Of the pOtentially profOund relatiOnship between relevance theOry and translatiOn and 伽ld Out mOre plausible solutiOns fOr translatiOn practices. Chapter One intrOduces some essential cOncepts of relevance theOry relative ω the stud予The general translatiOn prOcess based On relevance theOry is alsO suggested. Chapter TwO prOvides an overall víew Of cultural de也ult and its cOmmunicative values. In additiOn， the relevance-the Oretic framewOrk fOr translating cultural default IS glven.
