Can I go outside now?
 (P24 Let’s talk, Period 1 of Unit 3 Weather)
Ⅰ. Analysis on teaching contents and present situation of students:
1. Knowledge: Students have already got access to “ Can I have …?” when they were in Grade 3 and the first semester of Grade 4. They heard the words of weather in classes occasionally and they have already prepared for this class by doing some reading of P24 and P25 themselves.
2. Phychological characters: Students about 10 years old are apt to accept new ideas and they like lovely animals. They are strongly competive and they like praise.
3. Expressive abilities: Students in Grade 4 are willing to share ideas but they sometimes cannot express themselves completely. They might just answer with “yes” or “no” when others ask for their ideas.
4. The most difficult points of this class: It is the first time for the students to learn words of weather and it is the first class of this Unit. And the expression of “cold”, “hot” and “warm” can be able to learn by TPR and pictures.
Ⅱ.Teaching principles:
1. Real conditions and real comunication: To try to make a story with lovely polar bears and their conversation and immerge the target language, exercises and extended activities into  semi-real-situations.
2. Snowballing learning approach: Presenting the key points and difficult points through questions and improving the students’ abilities step by step so as to help the students to acquire language and be free from mechanic drills as much as possible.
3. Praises and interest first: To enhance the students’ interest and confidence by succuessful and improving experience in class with prizes related to the teaching materials, especially the key points and difficult points. 
4. Deep integration between information technologies and English teaching.
