Teaching aims:
At the end of this class, the students should be able to
get the main idea of the dialogue and read it correctly;
use the main sentence patterns: Can I go outside/have some soup?Yes, you can./No, you can’t.
use the key sentences to describe the weather;
understand and read the new words:outside, cold, be careful and hot.

1. Students should be able to use the key sentence patterns in a real situation:Can I go outside/have some soup? Yes, you can./ No, you can’t.
2. Students should be able to use the key sentences to describe the weather condition and read the new words correctly: be careful, hot, outside and cold.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warm up

Free talk
T: What time is it、
S:It’s two o’clock.
It’s time for…
Step 2 Presentation and practice
(1)Show the sentence pattern : Can I…?
T:Let’s begin our class. Can I use your book?
S : Yes, you can.
T: Can I use your pencil?
S: Yes, you can.
(2)Game: I am the manager!
Students write down the lists of the food they want to serve others and ask each other:
T: Can I have some beef?
S: Yes, you can.
T: Can I have some soup?
S:Yes, you can.
( Teacher shows “ Can I…?” on the blackboard and the correct pronunciation.)
(3)Practice
T shows the picture of “rain” and asks: Can I go outside now?
Ss: No, you can’t.
T shows the picture of “warm” and asks: Can I go outside now?
Ss: Yes, you can.
( Teacher shows the other pictures of “cold” and “hot” in the same way one by one and helps students practice the new knowledge.)
