Lesson one EQ:IQ UNIT 13 Lead- in Compete to answer the following questions: 1. The farmers in this village used modern methods but harvested no apples this year. Why? (They planted peach trees.) 2. My uncle hasn’t slept for many days but he isn’t tired at all. What’s his secret? (He sleeps at night.) 3. What has four fingers and a thumb but no flesh and bones? (A glove.) 4. Where did the egg floating down the Mississippi River come from? (From a hen.) 5. Lucky mouse fell off a 1000-step stair and was not hurt. Why? (He fell from the last step.) 6. How can you put your left hand where your right hand can’t reach it? (Put your left hand on your right elbow.) 7. What do you have that you can’t lend to others? (Your shadow) 8. How can you throw a ball and have it return to you without hitting anything or having anyone throw it back to you? (Just throw it up in the air.) 9. What would George Washington be most famous for if he were alive today? (Old age.) Decide whether the following are right or not. 1. EQ can help you achieve success in your scientific research work. 2. It’s said that EQ gets you hired at work. 3. A person’s brainpower decides whether you will succeed in his future work. 4.
