Language is closely related to culture, language expresses self-control of culture. Culture is a powerful force in deciding the forms of language and the rules using them.? The psychological value of politeness influenced by the cultural value,?the cultural difference is the base of psychological value. Maoluming’s Face theory, and Leech’s politeness principle embodies the difference of politeness between Chinese and English. At the same time, the difference between Chinese and English culture also embodies the difference of Chinese politeness and English politeness. With the increasing contact between our country and foreign countries, peoples interests in learning foreign languages and communicating with foreigners have developed quickly. But if people are not aware of the similarities and the differences between the two languages, especially in courtesy language, it will cause misunderstanding in interaction, which not only hinders their communication with foreigners, but also influences their foreign language learning. Therefore, it is necessary to concern about the original reasons of the cultural difference between Chinese and English politeness. According to the different researching of politeness principle between Chinese and English, it concludes that, the Chinese and English culture is playing an important role to the Chinese and English politeness language.
