Ab Abstract PAGE PAGE IV ABSTRACT Objective： This study aims to evaluate the effects of long-term imatinib adherence of Philadelphia chromosome positive(Ph) and (or)BCR ／ ABL Fusion gene positive Chronic myeloid leukaemia patients in chronic phrase on clinical treatment responses and to identify factors related to adherence. Methods： A total of 66 Chronic myeloid leukaemia patients in chronic phrase (Ph chromosome and BCRJABL fusion gene was positive)were recruited from the hematology department of Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January 1, 2005 to April 1, 2015. Patients basic characteristics, imatinib prescriptions, results of laboratory tests, episodes of imatinib-related side effects and mortality rate were recorded. Data were analyzed by Chi-Square and Correspondence analysis using the Statistical Analysis System software package. Results： The mean follow-up time was 21 (5-127) months and the mean medication possession ratio was 92.8%（35.4%-100%）. There was a significant difference in the 6th month complete cytogenetic, 12th major molecular , 12th complete molecular responses and 60th month progression-free survival between the adherence (n = 34) and non-adherence (n = 30) groups ( 70.59 vs 30 %;P = 0.001 , 60.6 vs 25% ; P = 0.005 , 48.48 vs 14.29% ; P = 0.005, 100 vs 58% , P = 0.006). Single factor analysis showed that grade 3-4 hematology toxicity (P 0.0001) and economic difficulties (P = 0.003) associated with low adherence, and multivariate analysis showed that 3-4 hematology toxicity (P 0.0001) was the only factor affecting the adherence.
