They can affect the lifestyle of family and friends by beginning from themsevles, and take responsibility to resolve problems. Community service activities make students’ self-evaluation and external evaluation improved. The sense of achievement the students have experienced is in favor of consolidation of social responsibility formed in activities. However, the difficulties and setbacks are inevitable, it requires active guide from the teachers.
This paper takes the example of the Yangshan Investigation activity by the students at No. 26 Class, Grade One at JinXiang Second Middle School, and analyzes the issue of forming the students’ sense of social responsibility. The students’ experience of beauty and sense of history toward the Yangshan conflicts with the crazy quarrying problem in reality, so that they shout out “stone here cannot be mined”. After a collection of information, investigation and study, open analog hearing, students designed different economic development restructuring plans for Yangshan town, and made suggestions to government departments. The case provides an effective model for cultivating students’ social responsibility.
