Agriculture and Biology College of Zhejiang University , Hangzhou Zhejiang 310029 , China) Abstract : According to the statistics of 2001 , there is tea garden of 170 700 hm2 in Yunnan province , with the yield of 81 600 ton , which is No . 4 of China. The total production value of 872 000 000 RMB yuan , is No . 10. Even though , there is a obvious gap from that of national level in yield of per unit area , price and yield of famous or quality tea. The main reasons results in the status quo are : poor transportation , information obstruction , short of culture background , poor market consciousness , undeveloped conception , poor economic basis , low scientific level and short of new industry etc. Aiming at these problems , the following strategies for future development were proposed : renovate conception , establish tea market , upgrade tea industry , develop ascendent industry , speed up famous and quality of tea , complement the advantages of the east and the west ; found famous brand and protect ecological environment.
