Abs Abstract I I Abstract Tour guide interpretation is an activity that people act as interpreters between tourists and tour guides in tourists activities. The Japanese interpreter of tour guides not only need the proficient Japanese,the quick response ability and the professional knowledge of tour guide, but also need the good communication ability and strong organization and coordination capacity. Therefore, in order to spread Chinese culture preferably and to help Japanese tourists understand it very well, the interpreter should have the awareness of cross-cultural communication as well as learn the characteristics of these two different cultures. In this practice, the author worked as the interpreter between Japanese tourists and tour guide in Bailu Travel Agency of Lijiang. In order to finish this task of interpretation, the author needed to know more information about local customs and culture in advance and also needed to collect more information referring to scenic spots through internet. In the process of interpretation, the author went along with the tour guide who organized the Japanese tourists to visit different scenic spots, meanwhile, the author made the clear Chinese-Japanese interpretation for all Japanese tourists including some typical commentary. In addition, there were some problems about interpretation, the speed of speaking and the listening comprehension during the interpretation. After finishing the task, taking all these problems in to consideration, the author made a conclusion that people should pay more attention to accumulating and practicing, therefore, they could avoid more unnecessary mistakes and become a qualified interpreter of tour guide.
