Sports events’ effect on economic, society , environment and tourism is becoming more and more obvious, which makes domestic cities compete to hold large-scale sports event to obtain the huge economic and social benefits of competition itself. With the the number of sporting events increased rapidly, it shows theoretical problems such as lack of comparison and lack of practical experience in the sports event operation management at the same time. Most events did not get rid of the traditional game operating modes. Lanzhou international marathon was founded in 2011, after three years of development, event operations management level has a large enhance, but in the event management system, market development and competition, setting of project there are a lot of problems, these problems will affect the competition for the long-term development. Aiming at this situation, this paper studies the actuality of lanzhou international marathon operation management, find problems in the process of operation management and seek countermeasures to solve them.
