The traditional textile enterprises are using eye to finish fabric defect detection, this method is boring and labor intensity, testing personnel is easy to be influenced by emotional factors, Generally exist error detection rate and high miss rate, slow detection speed. So using machine vision instead of manual automatic detection technology has become a hot research at home and abroad. The study of object in this paper is cord fabric, It is a kind of periodic structure texture cloth. The purpose of the study is to realize the fabric defect detection system based on machine vision. The system includes hardware platform and software testing system. Firstly, selection of hardware to build system platform, a line scan camera, lens, image acquisition card, light source, measuring tools and industrial computer the system of platform mainly consists of six parts: camera, lens and light source consists of Image acquisition system; length measuring tool provide encoder signal calculate the length of cloth running, another important function is provide an external trigger signal for camera; Image capture card acquire image and stored in the industrial computer; the computer will be processing the image to obtain defect imforation and location. Software system includes the defect detection algorithm design and software module design. In defect detection algorithm design , mainly considering how to remove to repetitive, cyclical part of the cord fabric, and then threshold segmentation method to extract the region of interest, This paper describes three methods: based on Gabor filter bank, based on morphological processing and based on Fourier analysis to cord fabri
