Model－Use to specify classes of options from which you customers can choose when ordering configurable items. Planning－Use to specify items that belong to the same product line(product family). Engineering and Manufacturing Bills of Material Engineering BOM are BOM that you create in Oracle Engineering and that are not ready for production.Manufacturing BOM are BOM that you create in Oracle Inventory and use in production. They differ only in the following ways: Engineering bills of material have the bill of material attribute Engineering seleted. Manufacturing bills of material have the item attribute Engineering clear. When your engineering BOM are ready for production,you can transfer or copy them to Oracle Bills of Material as manufacturing bills of material. Transferring Bills of Material Engineering and Manufacturing Bills of Material Engineering BOM are BOM that you create in Oracle Engineering and that are not ready for production.Manufacturing BOM are BOM that you create in Oracle Inventory and use in production.
