AbstractThe Abstract The thesis makes a deep research on the cultural causes of the occurrence of New Yuefu and Ancient Chinese Movement through the perspective on the cultural environment of Middle Tang Dynasty literature，analyzing their inner spiritual consistency．Then the author tries to find out the cultural orienmtion discrepancy through the comparative research on the styles of the upper two literary phenomenons． The New Yuefu and Ancient Chinese Movement are two concurrent in the Middle Tang Dynasty,it cannot be a historical coincidence．The high increase of political consciousness，the freedom and open of academic thoughts and the cultural system of talent election through examinations had posed great impact on the Middle Tang Dynasty literature，and it also resulted in a kinship between the literature and politics．When giving a specific look on the cultural system of talent election through examinations and the creative consciousness’s effects on the New Yuefu and Ancient Chinese Movement，we can find that system of talent election through examinations is the outer impetus and that the creative consciousness is a very important factor to their success．All the upper two aspects have shown the perseverance and indomitableness of the literati in Middle Tang Dynasty．Thus，in fact，New Yuefu and Ancient Chinese Movement bear an obvious consistency．But there is a distinct discrepancy in external form between the two literary phenomenons．The New Yuefu pursues plain and popularity,while Ancient Chinese Movement bold and unconstrained．We can also find that there exist some cultural orientation inconsistencies in the leaders of the upper two literary movements，when investigating into their differences in literary self-consciousness，cultural customs and the literati classification． Key words：New Yuefu；Ancient Chinese Movement；Cultural Trend；Imperial Examinations： Innovative Consciousness 引 引 言 中唐贞元、元和之际，由于士人政治热情高涨，唐代的政治、学术、 文学等方面均出现了中兴之局。其中，以韩柳为代表的“古文运动”和 以元白为代表的“新乐府”创作，更为
