In recent years the earthquake ,which happened more and more frequently ,has caused tragic losses including lives and properties. Moreover, as the country where suffered the earthquake frequently, the earthquake which happened in 2008 in our country has caused tragic consequence. It is obviously not enough to merely depend on the government to compensate for economic losses and reconstruct after earthquake disasters. As a means of resources storage and economic compensation, the function and efficiency of earthquake insurance can be very effective. Besides, the scholars has been made thorough studies on the earthquake insurance ,especially the developed countries like Japan ,American and New Zea land have set the earthquake insurance system, as well as in our Taiwan. From its operation,we can know the system can be very effective. Consequently, based on the existing earthquake insurance, it is necessary for our country to have a combined method of government compensation and market operation.Considering the tragic consequences the earthquake has brought to us,as well as the soaring economy, it is necessary and urgent for our country to set the earthquake insurance which meet our national conditions. Based on the current situation and the problems during the developing process,it is necessary and efficient to study the establishment of earthquake insurance.Secondly combined with the cumulative earthquake insurance experience, this article tried to make the proper earthquake insurance system and designed some earthquake insurance products.
