华中科技大学硕士学位论文 华 中 科 技 大 学 硕 士 学 位 论 文 II II Abstract Online Analytical Processing is one kind of multi-dimensional data analysis technology on cube, its goal is to meet the users specific query needs in multi-dimensional environment, facilitating the user to make decisions. OLAP system mainly consists of the OLAP server and multi-dimensional query client tool. On the basis of analysis and research of the DMOLAP server, according to the needs of DM multi-dimensional client tool, designing and implementing a client tool to interact user with DMOLAP server. Through researching on the multi-dimensional query client tools and related technologies, multi-dimensional query client tool has mainly the following functions: generating multi-dimensional query and displaying the multi-dimensional query results set with a two-dimensional table and supporting the operation of the common multi-dimensional analysis, so, this system includes three functional modules: the multi-dimensional data interaction module, multi-dimensional query generation module and multi-dimensional data displaying and operating module. The multi-dimensional data interaction module is to interact with the server, this system uses Java Remote Method Invocation technology to communicate with the server, mainly through connected services and metadata services to get the metadata information， showing the metadata with tree structure. Multi-dimensional query generation module is to generate a multi-dimensional query, this system uses Multi-dimensional eXpressions as multi-dimensional query language, according to the grammatical structure of the query, providing a graphical wizard pages to assist the user to generate multi-dimensional query. Multi-dimensional data displaying and manipulation module is to display query results with a two-dimensional table, this system uses the dimension nested technique to design a two-dimensional cross-table and display multi-dimensional data, the system can automatically generate
