Abstract Xu Ji (1028—1103）Title Zhongche，born in Shanyang，Chuzhou，(Huaian in Jiangsu province) was a moralist of North Song Dynasty. Xu Ji， who studied from Hu Yuan， was learned and refine， hardworking and encourage “fealty and pious to parents， honest and clean to country， morality and justice to literature， and famous in South-East area. （History of Song Dynasty）His poetry and prose are odd illustrates arrogant， abnormal and distinctive， with heroic and free style. We can not judge and restrict his arts with rhythm. His poetics proposal discriminate morality according to lection， cultivate Qi as vital. Xu Ji has the work Filial Piety Collect and the work was completely protected and passed to now. The object of the study is Poetry and Prose of Xu Ji. This article combined the life，experience，and thought of Xu Ji, and does a systematic and completely research to his content and Artistic features of his poetry. The essay has three main parts. In the first part， the author gives introduction of the life and main thought of Xu Ji. In the behaviors of Xu Ji，we can see the forgiveness，benevolent，and the graceful personal loyalty of Confucianism. In the second part， the author did a classified research to the content of Xu Jis poetry. Based on the Filial Piety Collect， the author considers the work of Xu Ji can be divided into five category. The first category is poetry written as presents to friends or poetry write back and forth between friends which has deep love and the spirit of moralist; The second category is the ingenious and savory poetry chanting things; The third category is philosophy chanting works with leisure and comfortable; The forth category is w
