The results showed as follows: there was not incubative root primordium in one-year-old shoot of C. oleifera, and there were cyclical and continuous arranging sclerenchymatous cells in periderm. These structure features might be related to the longer rootage duration of cuttings from C. oleifera. The adventitious roots developed from the induced root primodium, which originated from the cells of vascular cambium, phloem and callus. The adventitious root of C. oleifera belonged to initial type and mixed rooting type of induced root. Just only a very few adventitious roots, which had no direct relationship with callus, developed from
