Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested; 在本课的学习中,我们要学习以下内容: 首先,要对英国历史进行简单介绍,因为文学的发展是与历史、政治、经济、文化等方面的发展密不可分的。在了解一定的历史知识的基础上,本课要分阶段、分时代地对英国文学的发展进行介绍,这中间,要介绍各个不同历史时期的文学思想及其代表人物,各文学流派及其主张、有代表性的作家、作品。在学习过程中,大家要特别注意一些概念、时代的特点及对文学的影响,作家的特点、作品的意义、在文学史上的地位等等。 英国文学的分期 division of time of British Literature Early and Medieval British Literature (1).
