This feature helps the doctor to easily and quickly optimize the MV blended sensor so that patients reach their Age Predicted Maximum Heart Rate (APMHR) at their maximum exertion level. Some of the benefits of AutoLifestyle: Ease of use: Automatically programmed to ON once MV initialized through 4?ON procedure Ease of programming: Expert Ease only requires age of patient Optimizing the MV sensor by trending and doing a hall walk is the best method of optimizing, as it allows you to determine a maximum exertion rate for that patient with human guidance. In this case, AutoLifestyle would not be suggested to the doctor. However, if the doctor likes the MV blended sensor but feels it takes too much time to manually optimize the sensor, AutoLifestyle should be suggested. Explain that the feature will set the slope for the response factor and the theoretical target heart rate and watch/adjust these factors over time such that the APMHR is reached at Maximum MV with minimal doctor input. Also, the Maximum Sensor Rate will place a limit on how high the response will be allowed to go. Make the doctor aware that AutoLifestyle is designed to restore chronotropic competence. As such, patients may feel higher heart rates than they may expect for their level of exertion when AutoLifestyle is ON. Make sure that both doctor and patient understand that this is a normal reaction to the patient regaining a normal heart rate response to exertion. The patient may ask questions regarding this reaction. Should the physician not be receptive to answering such questions or not be a proponent of the MV blended sensor, AutoLifestyle may not be appropriate to suggest to this physician.
