Let Ss watch a video about: the earth song.
Step 1
Free talk.
After watching the video, let Ss talk about the questions:
1. What do you get from the song?
2. What do you think of this song?
Step 2
Show Ss some pictures about different pollution and ask Ss to look at these pictures and then tell with the partner what they will think about.
Step 3
Discussion.
What?kinds?of?pollutions?do?you?know?
What caused these pollutions??
Step 4
Show Ss some pictures about the reasons that one was late for school and then read and talk about the given sentence.
Step 5
Show Ss some words and then ask them to read these words and put them into the related pollution.
Step 6
List the reasons of pollution and then give more reasons that you know.
Step 7
Ask Ss to listen and complete the sentences.
Step 8
Listen again and answer the questions.
Step 9
Pair works.
Ask Ss to role-play the conversation with your partner by using the information in 1a.
For example:
Mark: The river was dirty. Even the bottom of the river was full of rubbish.
Tony: But it used to be so clean!
Mark: Yes, but people are throwing litter into the river.
Tony: Everyone in this town should play a part in cleaning it up!
Step 10
Listen to the conversation and find the kinds of pollution they talk about.

Let Ss to listen again and answer the questions.
Step 12
Ask Ss to complete the sentences with the given words and meanings.
