Unit 8 When is your birthday? Period One By Chen Lijie 一、 Analyzing teaching material 1. Status and function This lesson mainly talks about date. All the activities are carried out around the topic of month terms and ordinal numbers. This period is the lead-in part of Unit 8 in Book One. So if the students can learn it well, it will be helpful for them to learn the rest of it. 2. Analysis of the students During Unit 7, students have been learned cardinal numbers, so it is much easier for them to master the ordinal numbers. After learning English for several months, students can express their own ideas by using some words and some simple sentences. 3.
