Quick greetings 2. Present the learning aim Today we’ll deal with the writing of Unit 1, so the learning aim is to write about advice on learning English. 3. Free talk Think about the ways to learn English. Such as listening to the tapes, doing some reading, watching English movies and so on. Make a list. 4. Mind map about learning English well Discuss with your partners. Try to write more ways as much as possible. Classify the ways and make a picture. 5. Group work Discuss with your group mates and write down the sentence structures about giving advice. Such as Why don’t you…? Why not…? You’d better… It’s best to… You can… You’re supposed to… 6. Enjoy an article Enjoy an article about how to learn English well. And analyze the beginning, main part and the ending of the article. Learning a new language is not an easy job. We need to know good ways of learning it. We should believe in ourselves. 7. Present the task of writing. Ask the students to write the compositions on their worksheets. Exchange the composition with your partners. Read and find out the good words and sentences. Help your partner improve his or her composition. 8. Homework Rewrite your articles and hand them in tomorrow.
