The title of this unit is “Life is full of the unexpected.”, and the topic is about past events. The class is the first period of this unit. In this lesson, students will learn some new words and phrases and learn how to narrate past events. Besides, such topic is related to students’ daily life, so it can raise students’ learning interest and improve students’ Analysis of learners 1. The students in the junior school are very active, they want to show themselves but they can’t focus on the class for a long time, and some of them even lose their interests in learning English, so when I design my class, I have to pay attention to make my class lively and interesting and find more pictures students are interested in and design more activities to attract their attention. 2. They can describe past events by using the new structure ”had done” of past perfect tense , but there will be some new words for them to make up their sentences.. Teaching objectives Knowledge aims 1) Target language: By the time she got up, her brother had already gone into the bathroom. When she got to school, she realized she had left her backpack at home. 2) Grammar: Past perfect tense: had done 3)Words and expressions; Curriculum words and Useful expressions: by the time , gotten ,oversleep 2. Ability aims 1）According to designing some tasks, to train students’ listening ability and to train students’ communicative competence． 2）Learn how to narrate past events by using the past perfect tense. 3.
