The sixth period
Teaching date: 23rd Sept. 2015
Teaching aims:
Be able to read the text and guess the meaning of the new words.
Be able to draw the route on the map and retell the story.
Be able to ask the way and tell others how to get to a place.
Learn to be helpful.
Difficult points and Key points:
① the new words: gave、far、feature、tell and follow.
② learn how to tell others how to get to a place.

= 2 \* GB3 ② a picture of Robin

Teaching steps:
Step 1 Warm-up
= 1 \* GB3 ① Greetings
T: Hello! Boys and girls, my name is Sunny.
Ss: Hello! Sunny
T: Do you like sunny days?
Ss: Yes!
T: Why?...Do you like sunny?
Ss: Yes!
T: Good, I am so happy to know that! Thank you!
② Review
Look and say!
T shows the pictures, Ss say the word or phrase as quickly as they can.
设计思路:用图片呈现本单元单词和短语,幻灯片一张张闪过,以此来激活学生们头脑中关于旧知的记忆并调动课堂气氛。
Step 2 Lead in
Teacher shows picture of a long road, then say:
Follow me please! Today let’s go to a far place.
(show the two new words: follow and far)
T: now Let’s go to ancient times. (In ancient times, people can tell the direction by stars.)
T: Then as time goes on, something good was invented: compass.
T: nowadays, what can we use…?(GPS and its features)
设计思路:头脑风暴:通过情境,带着学生们一起穿越到古时候,引出问题:古时候人们借助什么去辨别方向?随着时间推移,辨别方向的工具也发生了相应的演变。问题设置的目的在于激发学生们积极主动的思考GPS的功能。
Step 3 Presentation
① T: since GPS is so great, do you want a GPS?
Ss: Yes!
T: Of course!I want a GPS and Robin wants GPS too!
②T shows the picture of Robin and say: can we put GPS in Robin?
Ss: yes/no
T: ok, some of you said yes and some of you said no. I think we should ask Wu Yifan’s grandpa. Before we know the answer, let’s see a story about Robin.
T shows the four pictures about Robin,
