But such model test for small hydraulic dam is not accepted by people unanimously. Some people do believe the result of the hydraulic model test is a necessary precondition before the actual design of any dam. However , others think for small dams , there are insufficent investments and uncomplex technological requirements in2 volved in , compared with the large and medium - sized hydraulic ones , so the test is unnecessary. Due to the neglect of the hydraulic model tests , many small hydraulic dams are constructed festinately with unsound designs , which thus resulted in poor qualities. What’s worse , they’re in turn caused numberless trouble in the future and raised the overall cost of the pro2 ject enormously.
