Equipment a) Adequate overhead lighting. b) Smooth, flat and hard measuring surface. c) A soft flexible measuring tape (such as fiberglass) that does not stretch and has metal tips on both ends. 1.2. Garment Preparation a) Fasten all closures unless otherwise specified. b) Lay the garment flat. c) Gently smooth out wrinkles, folds and creases, being careful not to stretch the fabric or distort the garment’s shape. 2. HOW TO MEASURE GUIDELINES This section explains how to measure different garment types, using ******’s numerically coded measuring system. The system consists of “How to Measure Codes” that define ******’s specific points of measure. In order to maintain clear communication during product development, Vendors must use this same system and terminology. This section is divided into three parts: Codes 1 – 80 apply to tops Codes 81 – 119 apply to bottoms Codes 120 – 148 are for detail measurements and apply to either tops or bottoms How to Measure Codes 1 to 4 Code Point of Measure Definition 1A Front Length From HPS(36 and under) Measure from (HPS) straight down to the longest point of the garment, staying parallel to CF. 1B Long Front Body Length (over 36 length) Measure from (HPS) straight down to the longest point of the garment, staying parallel to CF. 2 Center Front Length Measure from CF neck seam or edge straight down to the bottom of garment at CF. 3 Center Back Length Measure from CB neck seam or edge straight down to the bottom of garment at CB. 4 Side Length Measure from bottom of armhole/side seam down to bottom of garment along side seam or fold.
